What are Automatic Door Systems and The Types We Offer

Automatic door operators are installed for various reasons, it may be a main entry point where a large number of people are entering at the same time, it might be a security requirement that the entrance door is linked to the access control system and only allows authorised personnel, it might be that the door is heavy and difficult for the less able and it may be that businesses are now choosing door automation as a touchless means of entry and exit.

There are many configurations, applications and types of Automatic Door that can be a new installation or retrofit on to existing doors so knowing the correct solution is something we have vast experience of on both Automatic Door Installation and Servicing, this is something that gives us an advantage when advising a client on the right solution for them.

For example, there are many factors to consider when designing an automatic door solution like wind direction and the way a building is facing. This would have an impact on the type of application that would be installed and where a client may be near the sea, we would apply the necessary measures to ensure that, at design stage, the correct provisions are put in place to ensure that the application would have the desired lifespan.

We always ensure our designs factor in the building type, usage and location and will advise on Automatic and Disabled doors that are both safe and built to last, whilst offering a suitable Maintenance package that will ensure both safe and optimum performance.

Automatic doors and powered door equipment must be installed and regularly maintained by a qualified engineer in order to remain safe for building users under Health and Safety legislation and comply with BS EN 16005, (superseded BS 7036 in 2013), the European Standard code of practice for safety in use of automatic doors for pedestrian use.

Types of Automated Systems We offer:

Swing Doors

Automatic Swing Doors, either new or often retro fitted onto existing manual doors are an efficient and economical method of providing ease of access to your customers and staff. Designed with a wide range of features, from low energy, high performance and where touch free environments are a necessity.

Speed Gates

From a security standpoint, speed gates lead users to enter single-file, so reception, administration or security personnel have a clear view and count of each person intending to pass through.

Security speed gates can offer a line of protection to a secure area, yet at waist height they can be as discreet as you need them to be. However you may require an increased level of security and in which case you may consider the higher barrier type that prevent people from hurdling over them.

Speed gates have models that are specifically designed and configured for security environments and include waist high glass barriers or portals. Whichever is most suitable for your application, it can be controlled by proximity or swipe card access control and biometrics.

Turnstiles

Turnstiles provide an effective way of managing pedestrian traffic in a wide range of indoor and outdoor situations that require access control and logging. The choice of turnstile will depend on the level of security required, location and visual impact whilst taking into account peak use in normal and emergency situations. Turnstiles offer a robust form of traffic management and many variations to suit for your application and they can be controlled by proximity or swipe card access control and biometrics.

Touch Free Automatic Doors

With a touch free solution, an automatic door operation works through hand movement towards a touch free sensor and with this minimise surface contact contamination. The main and crucial benefits of touch free automatic doors are that they offer contact-less door opening for automatic and low energy doors, reduce building contact points and surface cross-contamination, ideal where intentional door activation is required by the user, they have an adjustable detection area, ease of door operation for people with disabilities and in most cases they are suitable for converting manual doors to automatic & modifying existing automatic doors that us push pad activation.

What our
clients have to
say about us

A Plus provides an excellent return on investment, not just through the solution installed, but the general experience they offer from pre-install to post-install and right through to the maintenance of the system. We knew we had made the right decision with A Plus as they offered a comprehensive and detailed proposal and project plan. The skill level of their engineers was a pleasant surprise with their knowledge of IT and networks, as well as electronic security, which made dealing with our internal IT team very smooth. Apart from that, the fact we never had to chase them for anything was a very nice surprise!

International Group of Schools

We chose A-Plus Security to carry out the upgrade of our electronic security systems for our 9 colleges and they have far exceeded our expectations in their approach to the projects. We are a UK wide organisation where the planning and mobilising of these major project around term times is time critical and A Plus Security have been nothing short of fantastic in the communication, there design proposals, openness to last minute changes, pre and post-sales support and their management of 3rd party companies and IT services. We would highly recommend A Plus Security to any organisation who are looking to install or upgrade their systems.

Nationwide Groups of Colleges

A Plus Security exceeded all expectations, following a late award of the contract due to a different contractor pulling out. All fire and security works were completed when requested and signed off on finish, with no issues noted. We have continued working with A Plus on following projects and would fully recommend them.
